Ingleton in Winter
Autumn, winter and early spring - Tryst Cottage is a great place to stay.
We welcome guests all year round at Tryst Cottage. Because you have full control of the central heating, and the logs for the log burner are supplied for you, you are guaranteed to be as warm as you need.
You can snuggle up in the cottage, or enjoy the fresh air, whichever you chose.
In the cooler days it is often easier to tackle more adventurous walks and climbs as you are not sedated by the heat of the summer days. Many of the pubs have roaring fires and lovely home made soup to warm you!
In the autumn, winter and spring I never cease to be amazed at the abundance of beautiful and changing colour displays on the rock faces and scars. The diferent sunlight angles show you shapes and detail that you have not noticed before.
The roads are usually very well gritted and the pavements in the village clear of snow and ice. At the same time, the hills, mountains and fields may be snow covered, and you will see local families out tobogganing on the slopes, or even ski-ing!
There is a plastic tobogan in the stone shed for your use.
Even regular visitors to Ingleton in the summer are amazed at how wonderful the cottage and village is at Christmas.
Below is some of the very beautiful rhododendron display at a walk I can tell you about. The rhododendrons grow in a valley and are massive, in flower for several months. Definitely worth a visit.
